Editor reviews

“A man is literally what he thinks. His character being the complete sum of all his thoughts,” writes James Allen, the British writer who pioneered the self-help genre, in As a Man Thinketh. In this audiobook, Allen directs the listener to make changes from within in order to achieve results. To find success, one must transform a weak mind into a strong one through correct thinking. Voice actor Jim Roberts gives a clear and straightforward performance of this inspirational guide to improving one’s life.

Learn to take control of your thoughts

If we see our mind as a beautiful garden that it is, then we should endeavor to guard it from the minutest of negative or uninspiring thoughts.

This book has left me with the knowledge and wisdom that to be truly free, then one needs to take absolute control of his/her thoughts.

Great listening

"He that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened!"

Whenever I listen to this book, it reminds me again and again how important it is to think accurately, contructively, and positively. It is only an hour long, so I listen to it often while driving, and the narration was okay I guess.

The author doesn't really give out any tips on how to think correctly or set of instructions on what we need to do, but he generally covers why we need to control ourselves and think good thoughts. This book puts me to remain on the positive frame of mind.

No Excusses!!

After listening to this, you can no longer blame others or circumstances. I have listened to at least 40 times. I recommend at least 3 times before you rate it. It was such a shift in my thinking that it took that before I could really hear what he was saying.

This is a book you need to read over and over until you have mastered its content. Things change when your thoughts change. From one the oldest and wisest verses in the bible. Definitely a keeper.

Too difficult for me!

I got to this book thru a quote by Dale Carnegie. Unfortunately it is too dry for me. I just could not listen to all of it. I consider myself a better listener than reader but I just could not finish it.
