Summary

With the man who kidnapped her daughter imprisoned aboard her ship, Captain Alisa Marchenko is closer than ever to reuniting her family. But her new guest has been in a coma for weeks, with the secret to her daughter's location locked away in his mind. She must find a way to sneak him into a state-of-the-art hospital on Arkadius, a planet in the heart of Alliance territory. Not an easy task when she and the cyborg Leonidas, her most trusted ally, are wanted by the Alliance army.

As if that mission weren't daunting enough, the Staff of Lore has appeared on the planet. As has the man who stole it: Alisa's father.

Still fun but needs to move forward

Still has everything we love in the book with its wit and charm, fun diverse characters (although male characters sound very similar, which isn’t a problem for me personally) and very intriguing storyline. Would like a bit more progression of story but I hope book 7 brings this :) Great book

Enjoyed, but not as much as previous books

The story is slightly losing its momentum for me, and I’d be much happier if the books were much longer. Normally I wouldn’t waste credits on books this short, but the free omnibus got me hooked. Still only drawback is the narrator’s slightly dubious male characters, but her female characters are great, she does the wit and sarcasm perfectly, I’m often walking down the road grinning to myself.

A fun series

Science Fiction with a fresh of fantasy, and enough snark to be amusing. A fighter travels a planetary system with three stars and considerable political disunity, with an eclectic mix of passengers while trying to find cargo to haul.

Just as GOOD

The book is fun to read, I like the banter and witty remarks between the characters. I think it's about time she finds her daughter or it's frustrating how she is a step behind all the time and she should put a stop the AbaloadofAss always reading her mind, I mean really..who could take all the invasion of privacy...even if he's a Starseer. I Reeaally like this series and I hope it continues after she finds her daughter. Looking forward to book 7.

These are great stories

So I am on book 6 now and I have to say I have really enjoyed these stories. The characters are great, each one of them brings something to the group that makes them so much better together. If only people with different backgrounds and goals could find a way to work together IRL as these characters do. Not that they don’t argue or even fight but they still come together when the group is threatened. Like family. Well done!

Meh

I wish the characters and story were developing more. This was a bit too repetitive of the previous books.

wow....the story is amazing 👏

What a great blend of sci- fi and rom/ com!!! the character changes are sharp in this book. There are times when the captain is not Snarkey more b***** but at the end , she becomes the character that we've all gotten used to. I definitely recommend this book

After 6 books, I want more then the same chase

I enjoy th banter, the filled out characters... but I want more then the same chase, the cat and mouse that started in book one.

Wish I knew sooner

This series started well with interesting characters and stories but turns into a sex centered charade of what it started. I wish it would have just started this way so I could have dumped the series instead of getting books into it before the blatant turn and now not even wanting to finish.

Incessant sexual innuendo gets a little tiresome.

While I am eager to see how the storyline resolves, it might have advanced another 30% if so MUCH time and conversation had not been devoted to repetitive horny talk.

Fantastic

Each story gets better or perhaps I should say that the stories never get boring. There’s always a new adventure or a new problem that the FMC has to overcome. And of course, the MMC is gorgeous (at least in MY mind). Be sure and read the books in order.

Awesome Character Personalities & Dialogue

I enjoy the plots, planets and characters that Lindsay Buroker has created throughout the series. Without hesitation, I purchase the next book in the series as soon as possible so that I can find out what’s going to happen next! Lindsay leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to see what’s going to happen next. All her characters are well developed and interesting. It’s easy to become compassionate and fall in love with certain personalities. Here I go, off to the next book!

I’m more than happy to use my credits. So engaged and invested in these interesting characters. Each new character as interesting as the last. I’m loving this series!

Bit of stagnation, love the series

The major plot points I care about in this series, omitted for the sake of spoilers, had very little progress made on them, save one which felt tagged on in the last few paragraphs.
The story in this book felt extremely episodic and self contained, via the lack of major plot progression.
I have really been enjoying the series. This book in particular though felt mostly forgettable as nothing of SEEMING import occurred. I have a feeling that a few key elements have been set in place in this book, but they did not feel well tied into the rest of the series/ did not have enough reader investment for them to feel motivating.
I also am not a large fan of the problem resolution employed frequently in this series, which is mostly “some completely unforeseen and unmentioned thing comes into play at the last second to magic the problem solved.” Feels a bit weak in stead of using already described elements to resolve the problem; staged by writing the problem with already described elements in mind.
Overall, enjoying the series. Glad for the bit of plot progression in the book. Hoping for a satisfying next few books.
