About this listen

The influence of Aristotle, the prince of philosophers, on the intellectual history of the West is second to none. In this book, Jonathan Barnes examines Aristotle's scientific researches, his discoveries in logic and his metaphysical theories, his work in psychology and in ethics and politics, and his ideas about art and poetry, placing his teachings in their historical context.

This is a piece of listening that is very reflective and analytical. Something that is applicable to modern reasoning.

The voice was slightly robotic in nature but the content was incredible. Great listen for those who love Aristotle & or philosophy.

A good account of Aristotle's thought with a decent amount of technical information and background. The performance, however, was straight up bad. The reader, if it was a real person reading, mispronounced a lot of words is ways that were very confusing. For instance, it took me ages to realize the sound that was being made was meant to represent the Greek 'psyche'. The delivery was pretty much monotonal and lifeless. Overall, the reader really made it harder to pay attention to content which is already difficult. So aye - good book, poorly read.
