Summary

Nalini Singh steps back into the shadows of her heartbreakingly original world where angels rule, vampires serve, and the innocent can pay the greatest price of all….Vampire hunter Elena Deveraux and her lover, the lethally beautiful archangel Raphael, have returned home to New York only to face an uncompromising new evil. A vampire has attacked a girls' school - the assault one of sheer, vicious madness - and it is only the first act. Rampant bloodlust takes vampire after vampire, threatening to make the streets run with blood. Then Raphael himself begins to show signs of an uncontrolled rage, as inexplicable storms darken the city skyline and the earth itself shudders. The omens are suddenly terrifyingly clear. An ancient and malevolent immortal is rising. The violent winds whisper her name: Caliane. She has returned to reclaim her son, Raphael. Only one thing stands in her way: Elena, the consort who must be destroyed...

Excellent

Absolutely love this series.... Have read all the books and Psy-Changeling too. Wanted to 'hear' it but found the narrator was not strong or commanding enough as Raphael, Galen, Elijah and Titus. Their character was not well represented at all. This for me was a huge let down....

Good third book

I enjoyed this book, not as much as the first two, as the plot wasn't as interesting. It felt very much the same old. It was still good though.
I love Elena and Raphael and their continuing story but am looking forward to listening to the other characters stories.

The narrator was one again fabulous. I love her tone. I'm so glad she narrates the entire series.

Enjoyable but could be better

I like this world Nalini has created and am enjoying this series arc unfold, though I think this book after all the build up should have had more of his mother than we saw towards the end. I know it's left for a future novel but still , I feel somewhat cheated, the whole book is geared up to this moment and then hardly anything is said between mother and son, nothing happens of the threat laid out towards Elena, and the book is over - there could have and should have been more easily without loosing the arc into another novel.

too much sex

I got bored of the sex which seemed to make up more of the book than anything else. The first time it showed that they are in love. After that it just filled the gaps. I wish those scenes had been in chapters so I could skip them and get back to the story which was in the end.

Archangels consort Nalini Singh

I really enjoyed this audio book the story was as good if not better than the other two books.I have listened to them all.
The narrator was very good she makes the story exciting.
The best parts is all the book I enjoyed the way you get drawn in to The characters because both are new to not only a relationship but Elena is a new made Angel then they have to fight for their lives as well.
Rafael the arch angel is just delicious and the way he treats Elena is wonderful you gave to listen to this book ad all of the the others as they follow on and are brilliant

Excellent Series

Would you consider the audio edition of Archangel's Consort to be better than the print version?

This third book is a good continuation of the story between Raphael and Elena. The story line is excellent and the performance is excellent. The narrator has done an excellent job in this series and I think I prefer the audio edition immensely. Justine Eyre is excellent and it is because of her that I would prefer the audio edition over the print version anytime.

What did you like best about this story?

The plot and narrator add to the story and provide an added dimension that needs to be experienced!

What does Justine Eyre bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Justine Eyre has added a richness to the characters that I would not have experienced in just reading the book.

Any additional comments?

I have read a lot of fantasy and paranormal romance series. I have found this series particularly enjoyable.

Good installment in a solid series

Book 3 in the Guild Hunter series won't disappoint. The romance between Raphael and Elena continues to develop and there is plenty of action, drama and suspense. A lot of Raphael's history is built upon in this book and Nalini Singh delivers another wonderful effort in a fascinating world. Look forward to the next one in Audible. The narrator is quite good, but I would like a little more of the drama to come through in her performance.

Great book!

It was a great book but the chapters didn’t seem to match with the narration.
