The pretty cover attracted me to this book. I love the image of the heart. As I listened to the sample, I felt connected somehow. So, of course, I had to hear the whole thing. At times, I felt the narrator was a little patronising, but the information was good, so I kept listening. Luzivette Martinez has created a great introductory listen for those dealing with the fear of abandonment that has it’s many manifestations in a ton of not-so-helpful expressions in our relationships and personal lives. In fact, this underlying fear of rejection can be so strong and so persistent that it can carry across to almost every area of life. But it doesn’t have to stay that way forever. When we glean the right tools and mindsets, we can begin really making a positive dent in these emotionally-led behaviors that are usually subconscious until we begin to cultivate some self-awareness. I really enjoyed the part of this title where the author advises joining online groups and communities that help people with these kinds of issues. Just hanging out in these groups can be the catalyst for so much learning and, ergo, healing.
