About this listen

La lecture de Jérémy Lopez illumine le récit parfois drôle, souvent désabusé mais toujours poignant de Michel Houellebecq.

i feel conservative, so, yeah, the book is for me in a way even thought it's more a nostalgia for conservatism we got here more than the leaning itself. still it's beautiful.
the book is definitely cut in two parts, probably wrote in two separated moments of the author's life and concerns.
anyways personally i fell in love with the book.
would be 5 stars if not for the reincarnation trope
hate it when white Europeans take on orientals beliefs. but that's me.

i love it.

This novel is vast and treats a range of topics, from tech to terrorism, from sex to love and spirituality, from politics to literature... At any given time you feel this novel will take the reader in a certain direction, only to swerve into a different one. I wouldn't be able to explain the essence of this book in a few words, I only know it grabbed me and never let go.
I have always enjoyed Houellebecq and this felt like a Best Of compilation, but with an extremely good voice actor. The pace might be a on the slow side but the narration is sublime.

A plethora of different themes; sublime narration.
