Summary

When an earthquake flattens New York City, the devastation is phenomenal and loss of life beyond comprehension. The world is in shock.

More than that, it is the first sign.

Only the chosen few can see it.

A firefighter, newspaperman, thief, engineer, bride, and a priest are all strangers across the country and are all thrown together. All of them believe it is the beginning of the end. Together they work diligently to try to save humanity and stop the inevitable.

But is it already too late?

For thousands of years it has been predicted. The prophesy has begun.

The mountains will crumble…and the Heavens shall fall.

The end is here.

Brilliant !

I love this author so when I saw this was a mega long book , I was super excited. I thought the whole concept was brilliant. I’m not religious , I’m more of a disaster , apocalyptic reader but this story blended the two into a really intense read. I really cared about the characters by the end and was constantly trying to guess who was what and how it was going to end. The narrator did a great job. I giggled a bit initially at his female voices but soon got used it and I love that most of his male voices had a New York accent ! He brought the story to life well enough that I was totally engrossed. I’m so sad to have just finished it ! Like saying goodbye to friends

Enjoyable story but truly dreadful editing

A clever story and the narrator was nice to listen to but the editing was truly dreadful . Bits of the story were missing , tapping sounds , it just spoilt it completely the last 6 hours were missing chunks of the story . Come on audible get your act together! You really shouldn't be charging for unedited and unchecked books !

dull

Would you try another book from Jacqueline Druga and/or Gene Blake?

I would try another book from Jacqueline Druga but not Gene Blake

Would you ever listen to anything by Jacqueline Druga again?

Maybe

How could the performance have been better?

Gene Blake main narrative is alright, but when he tries to do other voices, it is horrible.]
The little girl in this book especially was bad, sounded like a cartoon character.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

Not really as the author obviously did not put any effort in writing this story, just put together bits and pieces.

Any additional comments?

I have tried other of Druga books and they were not great but ok.
I thought at least she isn't using the F word and then she did.
