Have listened to Stuart’s books in the past and have enjoyed them, good plots with plenty of humour, however this story was extremely poor
The book lacked a plausible story and the ending was predictable.

Overall, I thought the book was very poor and I would not recommend it to people

This novel is easily the worst book I've bought. If I didn't know the author I would have presumed it was written by an average C student resitting their English Higher. I have all the other Stuart Macbride books in the Logan Macrae series. I've really enjoyed all of them (with the exception of This House of Burning Bones which is the most recent and was just average). So I'm at a loss as to what has gone wrong with that book and also this Roberta Steel offering. The whole story was naff and boring and the dialogue was just ridiculous. We all love Steel, and the character has been one of the highlights in all the other books, but this made her sound like a moron. Wish I could get my money back. To anyone thinking of buying save your money. I also don't appreciate the authors little lecture on politics at the start. Nothing worse than successful people trying to lecture the minions.
