About this listen

An intimate portrait of the life of Jackie O…

Few of us can claim to be the authors of our fate. Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy knows no other choice. With the eyes of the world watching, Jackie uses her effortless charm and keen intelligence to carve a place for herself among the men of history and weave a fairy tale for the American people, embodying a senator’s wife, a devoted mother, a First Lady—a queen in her own right.

But all reigns must come to an end. Once JFK travels to Dallas and the clock ticks down those thousand days of magic in Camelot, Jackie is forced to pick up the ruined fragments of her life and forge herself into a new identity that is all her own, that of an American legend.

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved JFK and was very lucky to visit his grave and pay my respect to him and his beautiful family. I’ve lost count of how many books I’ve read and now I’ve discovered Audible my library is expanding. I’m not ashamed to say I’ve cried on many occasions when reading or listening to their history. I don’t pretend to know about politics or it’s working I only know that I feel the world lost something very special when JFK died. This book just confirms that he was only human and had faults like us all. Jackie saw that and accepted him. Her strength and determination was amazing and this is just a little glimpse into their world.

Heartbreaking but eye opening
