Summary
The battle for Urdesh has begun - and the outcome will determine the fate of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade. Ibram Gaunt, now right hand to the Warmaster, and his Ghosts hold the key to victory - but can they defeat the sinister Anarch and his Sons of Sek?
Listen to it because:
It's all been leading to this. The Victory arc concludes with an epic story that weaves together plot threads from throughout the entire Gaunt's Ghosts series and puts the beloved characters in more danger than you'll be able to bear. Fair warning: they're not all going to get out alive.
The story:
Men of Tanith...do you want to live forever?
On the forge world of Urdesh, the massed forces of the Imperial Crusade engage in a final bloody battle with the Archenemy commander known as the Anarch and his elite warriors - the barbaric Sons of Sek. A victory for either side will decide more than just the fate of Urdesh...it will determine the outcome of the entire Sabbat Worlds Crusade. Ibram Gaunt - now serving at the right hand of Warmaster Macaroth - finds himself at the very heart of the struggle. His regiment, the Tanith First “Ghosts”, holds the vital key to ultimate success. But as the forces of the Imperium and Chaos square up for the final, large-scale confrontation, Gaunt discovers that the greatest threat of all may come from inside rather than out.

Fantastic ending
Once again Dan Abnett has written a cracker, Gaunt's Ghosts continues to be one of the best 40k series. The Anarch is a fitting end to the current storyline and the narration by Toby Longworth is spot on. If you have enjoyed the previous titles in the series you will not be disappointed. I really hope that some of the earlier books from the series come to Audible as they certainly are excellent also.

Very impressive narration
The book itself is fantastic, but I think at this point any 40k fan naturally expects this from Abnett's fantastic writing. What particularly surprised me was the quality of the narration, Longworth's deep tones are brilliantly suited to narration, and he skilfully breezes through a huge variety of accents in a very engaging way. I will definitely look out for more things narrated by him in the future!

Awesome story
A brilliant conclusion to this story arc. Dan has a way in writing where you become so emotionally engaged with the characters that it makes the whole story more realistic.
Toby Longworth is also the best narrator of the GG novels, so please use him on the next audio book in the series.

An amazing follow up to Warmaster
Abnett has done it again. A stunning completion of the story begun in Warmaster. (And with much better narration, which was my only issue with the previous book.) The pace is perfect, switching between the various ongoing stories and keeping you on the edge of your seat, guessing what is coming next.

Wauw, what a climax.
10/10. Easy as that. Story, performance. Just perfect. Felt sad as it ended, I wanted it to go on. That tells more than any number of stars.
