Zany Poems

If you could sum up An Elephant Is on My House in three words, what would they be?

Zany, imaginative, hilarious.

What other book might you compare An Elephant Is on My House to, and why?

Elias Zapple's Rhymes from the Cabbage Patch - though of course I'm utterly unbiased. Equally zany, though for an older age group.

What does William Turbett bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

A good sense of rhythm and pacing.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

And you didn't think it would be possible...

Fun, simple rhyming repetition. Ideal for little ones.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, if they had little children. This is a well-read version of these fun poems, with lots of great sound repetitions for little ones learning to speak. They can also ask for it over and over again without a parent having to repeatedly read the book out themselves, so I can see this audio book becoming a firm favourite with both little kids and their parents.

What was one of the most memorable moments of An Elephant Is on My House?

I love the poem about a Purple Polka Dot Thing most, but all of these poems are highly imaginative and visual.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

Again, I think my favourite scene is the discovery of the Purple Polka Dot Thing!

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me smile throughout, as all the poems are fun and upbeat.

Any additional comments?

The first audio book I've listened to in a long time, and I really enjoyed the experience.
