About this listen

London, 1815. Eliza Somerton has a dangerous secret. As the daughter of the infamous art forger who duped half the ton, she's rebuilt her life under a new name. But when an old forgery goes up for auction, her father's enemy, Grayson Montgomery, outbids her and presents her with an unimaginable choice: help him find her father or he'll ruin her.

For years, Grayson, the Earl of Huntingdon and one of London's top art critics, has sought justice. His well-laid plans finally come to fruition when he learns of his enemy's beautiful daughter. But Eliza possesses a sensuality and independent spirit that weakens his resolve, and as the heat between them sizzles, what started as revenge soon blossoms into something sinful . . .

Contains mature themes.

There's nothing outstanding in either the story or the narration. Lots of smouldering lust and lofty principles.

Not bad

I felt the story was quite weak with very little substance.

So, so glad I didn't spend money on this guff!!

Story Completely wasted by the ridiculously breathless angst of Narrator's voice

I have soo much that I didn't like about the book that I don't know where to start. Firstly it is supposed to be a love story but he statt having a phonographic thought from the first time he sees her. Then he finds that horrible seller practically molesting her and gets so angry that she depends on the credit to run her shop., thenbhe turns around buy her coal pays for a doctor for the sister. He rescues her from almost being raped then turns around and kisses her as soon as they board the carriage. She has been taking care of herself but suddenly meets him and has to rely on him to survive. She claims she is proud and she is not a prostitute but accepts everything he buys. The story makes no sense at all. A 13 year old calling a man an adonis and the other 13 year old already has a love interest. I kept skipping as I couldn't listen anymore. Would not recommend.
