Summary

Amplitude completes the Dimension Space Trilogy.

Angela’s reset bought us a new chance, but with the event set to repeat itself, can she and Vaughn save their comrades? In Houston, Director Randal McCree races against the clock as he frantically struggles to save a scrabbled-together team. The survivors will have to join forces if Angela is to enact her plan to take the battle to the enemy.

What your favorite authors are saying about Dimension Space:

"Like The Martian on (and above) Earth. An epic survival story with very human characters, clever problem-solving and a gripping mystery. The end left me with no idea where Dean was going with the story, I couldn’t wait for the next book.” (Craig Alanson, The New York Times best-selling author of the Expeditionary Force Series)

"His vibrant prose delivers the high-resolution imagery of a Hollywood blockbuster." (Kirkus Reviews)

Enjoyable, but not spectacular

The narration was excellent as ever, and the story was enjoyable. Silly clichés spoiled it for me at times, but others may love them. Would probably still listen to the next one

I'm knackered now

Omg the action runs from start to finish with more twists than a twisty thing. all I can say is Encore Encore. Roll on the next in this series.

More please!

This is the third book in this series and a little different to the previous two, there are a few more characters. I really enjoyed this audiobook, I loved the story I was able to remember the characters and not get lost with their names, this was helped by R. C. Bray & Julia Whelan but also by having some characters have some sayings that reminded me of who they were. I felt each of them had their own personalitys and I grew to care about them, if liked them or not is another point! A really cool book which took me on a wild ride! There was a slight issue with Chapter 3, which has been fixed before I even finished the audiobook, however the author informed us via email and gave us chapter 3 to listen to via other methods. I only mention this in case someone has left a negative review because that, but I believe it was fixed very quickly.

Possibly the worst sci-fi novel ever written

RC Bray does this best with this one but boy, is it a stinker. Lazy, unimaginative, gung-ho military fiction laced with stereotypes - the egotistical German scientist, the pompous Brit. Worst of all, it demonstrates Cole's fundamental lack of descriptive vocabulary. Like drinking games? Down a shot every time someone's 'eyes went wide'. You'll be unconscious by half way. Seriously. This is terrible stuff.

Stop writing so many words. Just stop.

I had to look back to my reviews of the previous two books in this series to validate how I felt about this one. And yep - just the same. If it wasn't for my mild OCD to finish a book series I have started, I probably would have stopped listening to this series by now. I found myself shouting at the car stereo on my daily commutes..." Oh for the love of all things holy GET ON WITH IT!". So many words. Not everything requires describing in such detail. So many words that don't move the plot along. I have returned other books that have annoyed me. But not this series, so there must be something here. I just don't know what it is. So I continue to listen, and get out of the car annoyed at the world. The problem is that it could be edited down to a much shorter story and nothing would be lost. And no bloody ending in sight, despite this being book 3. It's a con really. Like one of those 26-part magazines you buy at the news agents to build a model plane. 6 quid a pop. Seems like a bargain until you realise you've spent 150 quid on something you could have bought for 30 at the model shop. And you've still got to send off for replacements of all the broken bits. As for my review - the plot is silly. Not as silly as book 2 which was very silly. But as there is no obvious cut offs between any of the books in this series (other than the fact you have to buy each one), book 3 picks up some overspill from book 2, despite this one being better overall. But tough - that what you get for not writing any endings. I reckon the author will be writing this series until the sun explodes (in real life - not the book). And i'll continue to listen, gradually losing my mind. So to Dean I say PLEASE END IT. QUICKLY. WITH LESS WORDS. I'M BEGGING YOU. I NEED MY SANITY. PLEASE END IT NOW! I promise i'll read your other books...

Way to finish.

I loved solitude. I was meh on multitude - I almost put it down because the dialogue was making me want to shove screwdrivers into my ears.. The ending saved it. Amplitude? It's the perfect way to end a trilogy. A few twists were predictable, there are quite a few cameos from other Bray narrated books and the final chapter wraps up neatly... but the epilogue sets us up for a new trilogy. I'm glad I didn't give up on the series. It was worth every credit.

Elements of ReadyPlayerOne + Expeditionary Force +

Groundhog Day + Terminator (writ large) I found the first half of this third book of the trilogy fascinating and welcomed all the new MCs (except of cource, Chance-y who had NO redeeming qualities.) Then the writing became a bit too cliched what with constant references to 20 Century cultural touchstone movie phrases. Also, while the introduction of the AI-ish war bot was awesome at first, the author decided to transform it into a less humorous and irritating snark Skippy machine. Somewhere near the last quarter of the story, the conversations between the MCs started to become increasingly salty. Some of that is fine, considering the tremendous pressure they were all under but it felt like the author believed that spewing out 4-letter words somehow more emphasized this. It didn't for me. The ending was somewhat of a letdown in that, other than saving humankind, nothing else really changed in terms of the robot existential threat to humanity. Lastly, R.C. Bray decided to include more f-bomb bloopers after the ending as he did did in Expeditionary Force-Valkyrie. For what value I've yet to determine.

Loved it!

This series gets more exciting with each book! Angela and Vaughn managed to reset the timeline going back to the point right before the invasion of the "necks". This time they manage to bring a little more help with them and try to prevent this from ever happening and to save humanity. Can't wait for book 4! The narration throughout this series has been outstanding! R.C. Bray and Julia Whelan do an amazing job of bringing this story to life!

Omg, AWESOME!!!

So, I bought this on release day and downloaded. I PATIENTLY waited for Friday's commute so I could listen with my son (he made me promise). Then I saw messages about chapter three being buggy, and tried to convince the kid we should wait. but OH! we could stream a corrected chapter 3. so we persevered. Damned if we didnt hit a crazy dead spot, RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREAMING CHAPTER!!! mother effer!!! Anyway, I persevered, and was on the edge on my seat for several hours! Thank you, so much, Mr. Cole. I enjoyed the ride and CANNOT WAIT for the next trilogy and the clap back. I'm so fricking invested in this series! LOVED IT!

Excellent wrap up and setup!

Once again Dean M. Cole weaves a great story interspersed with humor. While this book is the end of sorts for the trilogy it sets up the Dimension Space series in a way that promises a shift from desperate survival to vengeful offense. I can hardly wait for the next episode. Julia and Bob perform the work in their standard way...which is near perfection.

Excellent completion of the trilogy

Dean M. Cole, R.C. Bray, and Julia Whelan. The perfect crew. Amplitude finishes the trilogy tightly with no loose ends and is packed with action. Having my favorite Male and female narrators working together is just icing on the cake!

excellent addition to series

I enjoyed Cole's latest addition to his sci-fi series. I was worried about the addition of different characters taking away from the main couple. However, BOb the bot, in particular, was a lot of fun. I was also happy to hear that Cole will be continuing the story with future books.
