Summary

Remember that time you accidentally sexted your in-laws?

Yeah. I just did that. Except worse. Now my million social media followers are reading and sharing the rude, smartass message I meant to send privately to my little sister...and I'm officially public enemy number one.

I'm Beck Ryder. Former boy bander. Underwear model. Fashion mogul. And I just buried my entire leg in my mouth - not just my foot - modern internet style, and publicly insulted my sister's neighbor.

Sarah Dempsey.

Also known as the woman of my dreams, who loves geeky TV shows, baseball, and giraffes, who's just as turned on by food as I am, and who has a huge secret that I didn't see coming.

Now it's time to grovel and apologize publicly on social media and hope that those same followers who helped start the raging shitstorm will help calm the waters.

Because Sarah doesn't want the spotlight. For very good reasons that I can't tell you right now and trying to convince her to be my fake girlfriend to fix this mess and make me look like less of a jackass is worse than taking a kick to the nuts by Jackie Chan.

And I thought modeling underwear made me feel naked.

Trying to start a relationship in the era of the twitterazzi isn't all that it's cracked up to be.

America's Geekheart is a rockin' fun romantic comedy featuring a billionaire fashion mogul who got his start modeling underwear, the geeky girl next door with a secret the size of California, and more superstitions and secrets than you can shake a baseball bat at. It stands alone with no cheating or cliffhangers.

I Love This Book!

Omgoodness I love this book. The characters are amazing. I want to know Beck in real life. This book is crazy and fast paced. You get an underwear model, a trash scientist that wants to save the world, famous actors, a pig with a too too, a crazy superstitious baseball fan, a crazy extended family. This book is a great time. The narration is great! I love both narrators. I definitely recommend this book. 🎧Audiobook Obsession

Great fun

Loved it when I read it on kindle, loved it more when I got it on audible.

The craziness and problems lead to an amusing rollercoaster of a book. Falling in love after being tasered when you've accidentally tweeted the whole word is just the start.

Brilliant!

Title: America's Geekheart
Author: Pippa Grant
Format: Audio
Narrators: Jason Clarke and Erin Mallon
Genre: Romantic Comedy, fake relationship
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Serie: Bro Code book 2
POV: Beck and Sara
Steam Level: Slow burn to steamy
5/5

In preparation/anticipation of the newest Bro Code book coming out I've gone back and am listening to the earlier books in this series. America's Geekheart was just as funny the second-time around and the intermingling and foreshadowing to future books makes Pippa Grant a genius. I still love Sara's dad. And I think Erin Mallon did him better justice than Jason Clarke but neither compared to the images Pippa Grant created in my head. I loved listening to the bonus epilogues which I didn't read when I read the ARC of ebook originally.

I received this audiobook for free from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Have a good laugh with this book!

It’s only my second book by this author, and I enjoyed it just as well.

I love a good romance between a geeky quirky women and a model-like hottie. Especially if they bond over their love for food and geeky series, like here. I enjoyed that part because, usually with instalove, the characters barely speak to each other. That’s not the case here, there’s a real connection.

Sarah and Beck were so different from each other. Beck sees the world through rose colored glasses, while Sarah is always waiting for the other shoe to drop. But they had the same insecurities–or close enough. Since they can relate to each other, that deepens their connection.

The author is great with ensemble scenes, and there’s a few here. Always hilarious, always with fast paced conversations with a lot of sarcasm and comedic situations. The side characters all have their own personality, and they’re always… let’s say interesting, for the lack of a better word. Not your cardboard cut sidekicks for sure.

Both narrators are perfect for that kind of romcom, with a great sense of comedy and pace. Have a good laugh with this book!

My favourite audiobook

This is actually my favourite audiobook, and I have listened to it multiple times. This reason that it is my favourite is just that it is so happy, it is a laugh out loud sweet romance. I really enjoyed it, put a smile on my face, and I really wanted the two main characters to get together.

So much fun to listen to

While I enjoyed the first one I enjoyed this one far more. I definitely laughed out loud on many occasions and chuckled a lot. Loved the slow easy way the relationship was built. So well written and expertly narrated. Thank you for an enjoyable 8 hours

Terrible female narrator, great otherwise

I enjoyed everything about this book except for the female narrator’s performance. She drags out and drawls the last syllable of every sentence she speaks! She even does it every time she says “Saraaaaaaaah” at the beginning of each of her chapters.

It creates such a distracting and whining style that I couldn’t bear to listen to for very long. It took me forever to get through the book because I couldn’t stand her speaking style.

The humorous story and male narrator were the only reasons I was able to finish the book, though I had to do it in sessions.

A Cupcake in a Tutu, an underwear model, bees....

ohhh...a grownup boy band is in this one too. Sarah is shy, brilliantly smart and afraid to let her own life shine. With good reason. She also has the greatest best friend ever to be a quirky sidekick in a rom-com! Beck is confident, devoted to his friends and family, and looking for a meaning to his own life that is bigger than being a former boy member and an underwear model.

This book is full of laughs, quirks, and beyond silly antics....did I mention Sarah as the greatest BF ever? She needs her own book she is that great! The Sarah and Beck are believable, even is their lives are not, their families and friends are ones that you can imagine wanting in your own life, and the crazy experiences had are icing on the cake, just not on the pig!

Thoroughly enjoyed this book! I am not an Erin Mallon devotee but enjoyed her performance in this book. I find the way she narrates to be a bit one note of over emphasis for my personal liking with a tendency to end every sentence a bit drawn out, this performance did not seem to be as heavy handed as others of her's that I have listened to. Jason Clarke was amazing and perfect for Beck and captured the character's over enthusiasm with a genuineness that added without feeling unbelievable.

Refreshing!!!

I very rarely give 5 stars, but this story was refreshingly different. I've been thinking about taking a break from this genre because I was getting tired of the same old story format. But with this book, the male lead wasn't a brooding jerk. There wasn't any heavy baggage for either lead character that was holding them back from falling in love. There wasn't endless chapters of me thinking, "just get over yourselves and be together!"
The narrators were great and the build up to sex was fabulous!

Hooked in the first 5 minutes😍😍

I'm starting to love ❤ this author. She writes love stories that are funny, sweet, with great romance. The characters are so adorable and loveable. I love how she includes the animals as well. I can't wait to read/listen to the next story.

Great narrators but terrible story

The story was so boring and ridiculous that even the great narrators couldn't save it. Waste of money.

I loved the story. Only thing I didn’t like was when
Erin Mallon did Becks voice it sounded like a very old man

Absolute Perfection.

I love Beck and his over the top, happy all the time outlook. He and Sarah are great characters who really respect each other and despite the way they’re thrown together, really have a connection. I’ve not laughed this hard in a long time. This book is definitely worth listening to over and over. Put me on the list to get my own “Beck-Bot”!!

No one writes humor like Pippa Grant.

ok, ok, ok, so if you like super funny crazy, zany guys paired up with a smart, sassy, beautiful lady then Beck and Sara's story is one you just HAVE to read. Add in a pot belly pig, named cupcake and the rest of the super zany cast and we have a winner. So quit guessing if you should or shouldn't buy this book and just do it already. then sit back and read, laugh, and enjoy some really great humor.
