About this listen

When Jesus walked beside the Twelve, He saw their weariness and understood their sense of being overwhelmed. Life in Palestine was hard under the rule of the Roman Empire, and their spiritual leaders burdened them by exacting unnecessary requirements.

Jesus knew their weariness and promised, “I will give you rest!” (Matthew 11:28, KJV).

He knew they longed for Home and vowed, “I will come again” (John 14:3, KJV).

Not much has changed over the intervening centuries.

We are weary. Life is hard in today’s polarized political climate. There is nothing this prodigal planet can offer to satisfy our deepest needs or fulfill our dearest hopes.

But God’s promises still stand.

He gives rest to the weary and reminds us we are almost home!

“In just a little while, he who is coming will come and will not delay” (Hebrews 10:37, NIV).

So, as women of faith, “let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise” (Hebrews 10:23, NLT).

We are almost home!
