Paris, 1942: In the midst of the Nazi Occupation, Annabel Marceau begins stealing from Germans and funnelling money to the French Resistance. But when she takes a pair of valuable bracelets from a high-ranking Nazi officer, she finds herself - and her two young daughters - in the line of fire, with devastating consequences.

Boston, 2018: Colette Marceau, now in her eighties, has spent a lifetime determined to find out what happened to her mother and sister that fateful night. When one of the missing bracelets surfaces at the Boston Diamond Museum, can she finally find the answers - and justice - she has been looking for?

*Published under the title The Stolen Life of Colette Marceau in the US*

A heart-wrenching and evocative dual-timeline novel, perfect for fans of Santa Montefiore, Rachel Hore, Lucinda Riley and Kristin Hannah.

Such a moving and riveting story that it kept me up at night !
Interesting twists and turns .
The only fault is that it felt a little too long . But beautifully read and written .

Fabulous

What a brilliant story and I think it’s my favourite of the year. Only marred by the dreadful, teeth grating English, French and German accents of the narrator.

Loved this book, very well written. If any niggles it would be the accent of Annabel by the narrator, but the book was far too good for it to spoil it.

Very well written and the twist I don’t see coming at the end.

the story was gripping and I enjoyed it ,the story was well told and although I think I had an idea of what was going to happen but I didnt care.
However the narration most of it was really good and believable the French arts and the American with accent but the 2 characters that had an English accent was awful the English accent made my teeth scream . That stopped me giving it 5 * in all categories.

I loved the story and there was so much detail that I found I was drawn into it easily.
The only thing that I struggled with was the cringe-worthy English accent of Annabel's character

Great story but a shame about the English accent
