About this listen
An earth-shattering choice. A long-lasting love story.
Since their first date in the school cafeteria back in the tenth grade, Sam and Maria have been inseparable. Before long, they fall madly in love. With every aspect of their lives mapped out, the future feels bright and full of hope. As adulthood approaches, Maria faces a life-changing choice. Her decision results in their separation and sends their lives in different directions. Maria’s inability to prioritize herself leads to the heartbreaking loss of her one true love and thrusts her into an agonizing marriage.
Sam is deeply hurt and confused by what Maria has done to their relationship. Her decision has completely derailed their plans, leaving his life full of uncertainty. Now faced with living his life without the only woman who has ever had his heart, Sam is struggling to discover who he is without Maria.
Over the course of the next twenty-seven years, both Maria and Sam try to move on. Despite everything, they have an unexplainable connection. Through letters, emails, and then text messages, they stay in touch as friends. Yet all the while always wondering what might have been. After enduring failed, tragic marriages, Sam and Maria unexpectedly find themselves thrown back together. They soon discover, however, that achieving the future they had always dreamed of is far more difficult than either of them realizes.

It is a SLOW! Burn , if you think you have read a slow burn romance b4 think again! But saying that it’s beautifully written. It has different media within the book, letters, emails and txts - I love the way as the years go buy the media changes to show the change in the times.
This book made me cry on several occasions, the kind where you are reading and a tear just rolls down your cheek. It also had me smiling by the end.
There is a few triggers in the book but nothing in too much detail to make it uncomfortable (for me anyway)
I gave it 5 stars and highly recommend, I have the audiobook but it’s also on kindle unlimited so I read along with it.
SLOW burn but so worth it
