About this listen

‘A persuasive manifesto for a better Britain.’ Observer Book of the Day

Britain needs a fresh start. This timely book by one of the stars of the new government shows how to achieve it.

In this brilliant and accessible intervention, Lisa Nandy reveals how Britain can leave behind the mess in which we find ourselves. All In charts a course towards a fairer, more equal, more prosperous country by drawing on the greatest asset we have – each other.

Rapid global changes, political division and economic crisis have left Britain reeling. For decades, large swathes of the country have been shut out, condemned to low productivity, underinvestment and managed decline, and stripped of their voice. With most major cities now beset with high housing costs, air pollution and congestion, even the ‘winners’ are losing.

All In shows how, by handing power and resources to people with a stake in the outcome, Britain can draw on the talent, assets and potential in every part of the country and start firing on all cylinders again. Finding strength rather than fear in our differences, it reimagines the relationship between people and government so that all of us can play our part in meeting the challenges of our age and rebuilding Britain the only way that works – together.

Lucid, clear-eyed and hopeful, this book sets out how we restore values, energy and direction to our politics and offers a glimpse of the alternative future that remains within our grasp.

I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it if you want to be able to make your life, family, loved ones, community & country better than it's been for a long time!!!

Lisa Nandy was my choice for Labour party leader, so I'm possibly a little biased...... Having listened to this, I wish I could vote for her again and again!!!!!

Forthright about the mistakes of her own party as well as those of the Tories, she's able to demonstrate a deep, well-considered analysis of the problems we're all facing and propose some really positive ideas to improve society in the UK and internationally.

Congratulations, Ms Nandy, you've got my vote!!!!!

Great book, really thought provoking.

Very well read and written by Lisa. She’s crisply identified so much of what doesn’t work in Britain and gives some good suggestions for the future. She does not step anywhere near an actual policy platform of what she would actually do, and Kees things high level which is disappointing in terms of the lack of ideas that she believes can solve the issues she discusses. Although as a sitting politician that is not exactly unsurprising.
She has a very productive and conciliatory take on Brexit which is a breath of fresh air and more of the approach that we need

Excellent diagnosis of issues

Lisa Nandy reads in her natural style, and weaves many strands together: personal, international, regional, national, historical, and local.

Her varied experience and positive outlook are matched by a humility which is down to earth, while having glimpses of heaven.

Here's to such a future.

Thanks
