How is this my first AK Evans book? This is the kind of listening I love. The first book in The Everything Legacy series, Taj and Olivia meet when Olivia runs away from her own wedding. Loving Christmas trees has Olivia's stop in Rising Sun lasting more than just a gas fill up. Taj sees her in her wedding dress and the two have a meet cute like no other. Taj is taken with the beautiful model, but it's more than just her looks. She settles in and these two have a budding friendship that turns slow burn quickly. But she remember, she is running away. Will these two get their chance? I loved this for so many reasons. Taj is a positive man, and his support of anything Olivia is so attractive, I don't know how she resisted him so long! Olivia is incredible as she gets out from under the thumb of her previous life and gets the chance to truly be herself. This book flew by and now I can't wait to start book 2!

CJ Mission and Kit Swann are the story tellers and they delve right into the minds of their characters. Mission has a warm voice that is like a hug each time he has Taj speaking to Olivia. His tone and inflections are perfect as Taj. Swann could not have been a better pick as Olivia. She builds just the right amount of emotion into her, keeping her real and lets her grow. I loved them, they were amazing and made for a wonderful listen.

A fabulous romance that captivated my attention and tugged at my heartstrings the entire time. This was my first visit to A.K. Evans’ “Rising Sun,” a small town in Wyoming, and I enjoyed my visit, the characters, and the storylines she created, which are wonderful and interesting. Even though I was completely new to her world and didn’t know the characters from the first generation, I never felt lost or as though I was missing something. The first book of “The Everything Legacy” series is Taj Blackman and Olivia Thomas’ story, and I loved everything about it, from how they first met to watching their relationship grow into something so much more. Olivia, a runaway bride, just got into her car with no plans and drove, winding up in Rising Sun, stopping to take a breather. Taken by the small-town charm, but what got to her most was the Christmas tree in the town center and the festivities surrounding it. Taj Blackman, the new CEO of Blackman Boards, a company his father built from the ground up, has a lot of responsibility to live up to. He saw her while out with family and friends, taken with her the moment he did, needing to meet her and learn more about her, he went over to talk to her. He knew something was not right but did not want to ask or push, figuring she’d share if she wanted to. Olivia had not planned on staying in town too long, but his kindness and liking it there made her change her mind, and Taj was happy to hear, because now he had more time to win over her heart. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions, and a slow-burn but so worth the wait romance. The writing, plot, and world-building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. A.K. Evans, thank you for this sweet and wonderfully entertaining story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 CJ Mission and Kit Swann did a fantastic job bringing these characters to life, giving each a voice that was fitting for a perfect portrayal of each. Swan was a natural in Olivia’s role, grasping every facet of her personality, from her insecurities and doubts to her strength and determination, and her male voices were fantastic too. CJ Mission did the same as Taj, showcasing his personality perfectly, bringing out all his traits and his kind demeanor. Both are fabulous performing the roles of the side and secondary characters too. Setting the ideal tone for the story, their expressive delivery conveys all the characters’ emotions, making you feel each one. It was a pleasure listening to these two versatile voice artists perform, and their entertaining storytelling captivates your attention and keeps you glued to the story.
