I liked this novel. It had everything: action, plot twists, a touch of romance, villains, tragedy. And, despite being the first in a series, it’s well rounded and has absolutely no cliffhangers. I liked our somewhat bumbling hero too!

I did find it ran about 8 chapters longer. Than it needed to do. I think it was about character development but I didn’t find it so engaging as the rest.
