Summary

The number one New York Times best-selling thriller about an airport thrust into chaos by a whiteout blizzard: "A spellbinder" (The Denver Post).

As a raging blizzard wreaks havoc at Lincoln International Airport outside Chicago, airport and airline personnel try to cope with this unstoppable force of nature that is endangering thousands of lives. And in the air, a lone plane struggles to reach its destination. Over the course of seven pulse-pounding hours, a tense human drama plays out as a brilliant airport manager, an arrogant pilot, a tough maintenance man, and a beautiful stewardess strive to avert disaster.

Featuring a diverse cast of vibrant characters, Airport is both a realistic depiction of the airline industry and a novel of nail-biting suspense.

Great Book

Had forgot how much better this book was compared to the 'blockbusting' film
Clean concise characters, good story well written without the use of prophanities or porn,a welcome refreshing change

Airport

I read this novel many years ago and loved it.
I’m happy to say that the audible version only improved it.
The characters are all well drawn, and the story is excellent. The narrator brings the whole book to life and I couldn’t stop listening.
There are a lot of technical details which add to the authenticity of the book. Listening to the book now, in 2022, I found his ideas about the future of aviation fascinating.
I would thoroughly recommend to all.

still a good story

I read this book years ago and have revisited. Although the world has moved on and technology changed it is still a good read.

Not as good as Hotel

Too much detail about the airline industry made this a bit long. There was enough good plot to persevere but I felt like if I zoned out for a couple of minutes it didn’t matter. It was extremely dated - the views of women were cringeworthy.

I didn’t like the narrator at all - he sounded very sleazy. Not one I’d recommend.
