About this listen

Giovanna: Everything I thought about my life was a lie and because of that, trust became non-existent for me. Then I met Declan. He pushed his way into my life, determined to prove to me that not everyone is a liar. He’s a hockey player, and we all know the reputation of hockey players. But I want to trust someone again…maybe he’s the one?

Declan: Hockey has been my focus for as long as I can remember. The day I met Giovanna, my life changed. Hockey would always be my first love. But she would be my last. Something happened to her and she’s afraid to trust me. But that’s okay, I’ll show her that I’m real. That we’re real.

This was a good story with good narration. There was the obligatory unnecessary misunderstanding toward the end, but it was resolved fairly quickly, so it didn’t irritate me as much as those usually do. Overall, it turned out to be a solid and enjoyable story.

This book is the a great start to a new series. Who can you trust, when your life turns out to beside. Loved both Giovanna and Declan. He falls hard and fast and is there to help her see who she can trust and his is the man for her.

This is the first book in the Mancini Legacy series, a sports romance. Giovanna and Declan's story is engaging, filled with instant attraction, drama, angst, and action. The world building is intriguing. Diana Diaz did a good job bringing this story to life. I’m looking forward to more in the series.
