About this listen

Henry never realized he was special. Sure, he’s an engineer who served his country, but when the virus hit, he found himself alone in a nearly empty world.

That’s the key, though: nearly empty.

There’s no one left who has the technical know-how to make the world run again...except for Henry. For humanity to survive, he will have to rebuild society out of the motley crew of survivors. It might be impossible, but at the same time, Henry has always loved a challenge.

The plot was great and different to the usual apocalyptic books I have read (200 since covid) and was not packed with action like many so it felt a little more real and not so hyped up. I struggled with that at first but then realised it was more like reality so enjoyed it after all. What let the book down is the author allowing his own sexual fantasies into the book and not having any insight into women. Older women might well be excited by open relationships and 3somes but young girls are rarely into this as thry seek the safety of stable relationships. This guy is suddenly surrounded by young women who are suggesting friends with benefits is good with them if the guy wants to play the field and encourage it with all females in the book listing over him like he is the last man on earth, which we find out he isn't. That ruined the book fir me as it suddenly snapped me back I to reality and all escapism was lost. Author is weak and needs to keep that stuff in his bedroom and in hand rather than in his books. The sex scenes however were written really well and with good taste, with respectful tasteful language and left me hot under thr collar a few times but the FWB thing was just so unrealistic it pulled the rug out a little. I still recommend the book however and plan to buy the 2nd in the series. Am hoping there is a little less 'HE said,' 'I said', 'SHE said' in the next one!

Good story and not overzealous

Only thing I didn’t like is that you can tell it’s a “from a man’s point of view story” …. Like to get the girl or multiple girls want him…. You know, the typical dream scenario for guys. But overall it was a great story, different than my normal apocalypse reads but will carry on to the next book.

Story ok overall

Honestly I found it so sexist, like this guy is hot and skilled and gets hot ladies falling round his feet for his protection... it was silly. They won everything... but having a story set post apocalypse without zombies and a bit more dare I say it "believable" way of being after a minor virus... was addictive. Damn well paid for the second book after getting this one free so must have loved something lol.

Sex No Zombies

Oh boy. So it’s a fairly fun but standard virus survival story perhaps with more positivity than usual. BUT it is absolutely hilarious that the main dude is some sort of reluctant stud with his mares. Three highly skilled women just cannot resist him and don’t mind sharing. Graphic description of sexy times. Obviously our hero can make a woman climax with just his penis. Hey Truly is a blessing 🙄🤣

Wet dream material for survivalists

Is the book about sex or survival on a post-apocalyptic world, I'm not sure. It somehow keeps you interested to find out what happens next.
all characters seem to be over-skilled and lose any challenge they could face in a world alone. but each does have their own characteristics making them more intriguing.
Overall I liked it and found it refreshing to have a post-apocalyptic world without zombies.

Compelling
