About this listen

Major spoilers below if you have not listened to book one, The Umbra King.

Erdikoa

After being released from the prison realm four hundred and ninety-nine years early, Rory finds herself in Erdikoa with no memory of the last three months and orders to keep her release a secret. Feeling like an outsider looking in, she tries to acclimate to her new life, but she can't shake the feeling that something, or someone, is missing.

She begins to question her reality when her sister's killer plagues her dreams, insisting he's innocent. But she knows what she saw all those years ago, and she's faced with a choice: avenge her sister, potentially destroying her life again, or let go of revenge to embrace the second chance she's been given.

Will she be able to retrieve her memories to help her decide, or will she stay in the dark forever, dreaming of a man she should hate?

Vincula

With a haunting prophecy hanging over his head, Caius races against time to break the magic barrier trapping him in his own realm. With the help of unlikely allies, they discover a solution, giving Caius hope for the first time since Rory's departure, but it comes at a steep price.

The evil they face cannot be underestimated, and the evil within may become necessary. For her, he will become the monster everyone believes him to be.

Aeternum is book two in the Vincula Realm duology and must be listened to after The Umbra King. It is filled with mystery, romance, a guaranteed HEA for our main couple, and twists to keep you guessing until the very end. Intended for mature listeners.

the but is ... please, please, please tell me there is a prequel or sequel planned (or I'd be happy with both!) as I really need to know more about some characters, going back to this book though, loved it again, this one explored the story and all the characters more beyond Rory and Cauis, I really enjoyed it all and the balance between world building, the love story and all the extra characters friend and foe, I cried at one point - testament to a good book for me! I also loved how this story ended up but there was so much left untold from another part of the story that I REALLY want to know more about.

Another solid 4.5⭐'s, but....

Good ending to the story, there were some bits that I thought were going to be more twisty than they turned out to be, for example Fiona's story. Gideon's bit wasn't as exciting as I was expecting and I think the bit where Cauis broke the realms wasn't explained as well as it good be. And Sam's bit was disappointing, he went through all that for nothing. The best way to describe this was it was all a bit of a rush at the end... Maybe the author spent too much time on fundays out rather than what should have been the gripping last few chapters.
Anyway it was good to finish the duology.
