Starting in the sixties, it charts the evolution of a relationship where happiness constantly gives way to tragedy and tragedy is in turn, diluted by happiness. Adam is the overthinking intellectual with sociability issues whereas Eve sees her contact with others as an opportunity to warmly embrace the world. While Adam studies both the philosophy and psychology of meaning, Eve tells him that the meaning of life is quite simple. You must love, laugh and be kind.
