Really enjoyed the story

Loved all three books, easy to follow and keep up with. It’s rather predictable but if you just want an easy read/listen then give it a go. Only down side for me was the American pronunciation of the word Duke as Dook, made me cringe every time. But don’t let that put you off.

Terrible narrator

This book set is meant for a young crowd, no plot twists, slow pace, no sexuality, and very little violence. Nothing surprising happens, and the narrator is HORRIBLE. The narrator's pace is really slow, he inserts commas where I assume there isn't one, all of his voices are to similar, all in all terrible narrator.

Why is every protagonist stupid?

The moany Hal whines about his disappointing life until a moany wizard cons him into stepping into the role of Protector on a second class RPG world. BUT! we know he'll defeat the foes because he's put a bunch of stat into luck. So, of course, that's the story. Yawn. er Double Yawn. Don't bother = really. save your credit for book on latrines. So it's gotten to the point where I am barracking for the bad guys. This idiot MC is too stupid to live. I have always thought that an author's job is to engage the reader to the protagonist. Did I get that right? Engage - or did we mean enrage? I can't stand it anymore. I'm getting my money back.

Probably good as a children’s book.

I stayed with it for an hour and a half, but finally had to give up on it. The dialogue sounds like what a child thinks an adult would say. It’s weird because it does not say it’s a children’s book, but I think it has to be geared toward a young audience. I can be entertained by Young Adult books, but not Children’s books. Oh, and that narrator wasn’t helping any. Seriously, he puts odd pauses where there are no... commas. It’s like he gets to the end of the line on the page and pauses before... finishing the sentence that begins on the next line.

Terrible

This book is no good. No good exists within this book. I feel ashamed for purchasing it.

Amazing

The narrator was absolutely amazing. Easily distinguish between different characters. Kept me wondering what's gonna happen next. I'm hoping that they make a box set for the next 3.

Fun adventure

I enjoyed the book very much. The story line had a great flow to it. I would have liked the 3rd book to last a little longer with a few more twists but all in all a great job.

Bad. Just bad

I'm three hours or so into it and I can't find a single redeeming quality. I don't like to write bad reviews, but this book is just bad. How I listened to the demo and thought I'd like it is beyond me. 1. Story: A boring take on Robin Hood. I'm not talking about alluding to the story but literally flat out saying, "I'm Robin Hood!" The guy passes out in front of his computer and wakes up in a fantasy land. No deep dive full immersion or anything like that, yet the moron thinks and acts like he's just playing a game. Pretty sure it would take about 2 seconds for me realize that I am no longer looking at a game on a screen. 2. Writing: Juvenile. Obviously someone who likes D&D and fantasy books said, "Hey, I can do that," and cranked out some books with little discernable plot, world building, or character development written at around a 4th grade level. 3. Narration: A good narrator can save a bad book and a good book can make a bad narrator tolerable. This thing has neither...or is both. Whatever. The narrator has a good voice, but I'm guessing most of his work is in the non-fiction or educational narration. He's so stilted and dead in his delivery I'm assuming he attended the Christopher Walken and William Shatner school of acting and mastered their methods without achieving any of the endearing qualities. His cadence is all over the place, mostly with weird pauses everywhere. I never thought I would return an audiobook, and since I'm not a premium subscriber, I guess I never will. I doubt I'll ever finish it. Hands down the worst LitRPG or fantasy audiobook I've had the displeasure of listening to.
