About this listen

Bloomsbury presents ADHD Unpacked, an essential guide to surviving and thriving with adult ADHD, written and read by Alex Conner and James Brown, the hosts of the hit ADHD podcast, The ADHD Adults.

This audiobook features an exclusive bonus episode of The ADHD Adults podcast.

'Essential reading' Tom Watson

Think you have ADHD and looking for help?
Recently diagnosed and thinking, what now?
Looking to support and understand an adult with ADHD in your life?

From the hosts of The ADHD Adults comes this accessible, authentic and unfiltered guide to understanding adult ADHD. You'll find science-backed facts on what ADHD actually is, how it shows up in everyday life, personal reflections (sometimes painful, often hilarious) and tips and tools for coping.

Join Alex and James as they walk you through ADHD myth-busters (it's not a trend, technology doesn't cause it and medication can be effective - 80% of people who take ADHD medication think so!), the long-held perceptions of ADHD (did you know that it was once known as 'a defect of moral control'?!), to why intention and emotion regulation disorder might be a better name for it.

ADHD Unpacked is the relatable, reassuring and downright funny handbook you need to survive and thrive with ADHD.

'A true gift to the community' Hana Walker Brown, author of A Delicate Game

'A deep dive into the science, understandings and misunderstandings of ADHD' Anita Bhagwandas, author of Ugly

This book is kind. It’s also funny and factual. I laughed, I identified and I cried. I have followed James and Alex for a couple of years and they have made a huge difference to my life.

The BEST book on ADHD

This is the most grounded and scientifically accurate book on ADHD that I have yet to read—plenty of myth-busting from two Professors who have been diagnosed with ADHD and work for the benefit of others in the area. No ‘superpowers’ nonsense and every bit of science is well referenced for independent research. It's very accessible, and read at such a pace as to aid the ‘osmosis’ of the information. I was hardly distracted… oh look a squirrel…
A1 and ought to be read by ADHDers, and anyone involved in the life of someone who may or may not have ADHD. It’s an education for everyone.

This is all the information from your podcast all in one place, easy to understand and easy to listen to. Listening to this has confirmed to me what u already knew, that it is ADHD that I'm struggling with and need to find support. You 2 make a great team, I love listening to your podcast with Mrs AuDHD (not sure if I've written that right). You are all an inspiration. And being you true selves for us all to see allows is to have grace with ourselves to be human too.
