About this listen

Sequel to The Consumption of Magic

Nearly a year ago, blinded by grief and betrayal, Sam of Wilds made a desperate decision to follow the Great White into the Dark Woods. Now, he emerges to a world changed.

The City of Lockes is a prison. The King has been locked away in the dungeons. The Kingdom of Verania has fallen, and the Dark wizard Myrin sits on the throne.

But soon after his return, Sam learns of a resistance fighting in his name, led by a courageous knight, a defiant prince, a pissed-off unicorn, and a half-giant who wants to smash everything in sight. If he has any hope of defeating the villains who have taken their home, Sam must face the consequences of his choices - and the friends he left behind.

Love everything about this series. Michael was excellent with the narration as always.

Give this a listen, you won't regret it.

VERY, VERY funny.
Characters make this series one of the best, and Michael Lesley brings them to live just right.
Gary is one of my favorites. Narrators' performance of Gary was AMAZING. I had to pause so many times due to my fits of laughter.
Sam - a lite "silly", naive, lost in his own "world"?
Tiggy smash? - NO Tiggy! . . . Wisdom and pure heart.
Ryan Foxheart - a lite "silly", is this a theme?
Dragons - Each with unique "personalities".
Overall, good book, in a great series.

When the lightening struck heart was first published I thought it was a whimsical funny story, light hearted and happy. And then came A Destiny of Dragons, then The Comsumption of Magic and now this the ending for Sam and his merry band of men... well for now. I have loved all these books in the series and this conclusion is just perfect. I think both the writing and narration are such a beautiful medley which diffo gives me heart banners.

Listened to it twice already and still loving this book!

I loved the story, the series, the world, most kf the characters. The only reason its not a perfect 5 stars is because while the general goofiness it apart of the charm of the series, sometimes its too much and I find myself just being like ‘Gary not now’. But otherwise, loved it.
