Summary

A sweet, funny and romantic novel from the Sunday Times number one best seller.

It's been a while, but Lara Carson's back in Bath, and lives are set to change as a result. Because Lara left her family and boyfriend, Flynn, 18 years ago without a word to anyone. Why has no one heard from her since?

Her childhood best friend, Evie, is thrilled Lara's back and able to share her happiness. Evie's about to walk down the aisle with her dream man, Joel. Or so she thinks....

Then there's Flynn Erskine, even more attractive now and stunned to see Lara again. The spark between them is as strong as ever, but how's Flynn going to react when he discovers the secret she's been keeping from him? Oh yes, there's a lot of catching up to be done....

Perfect for an escape 😁

From chapter one you’ll be engaged with the characters.
Beautifully read.
Did get a little boring at around chapter 47, stick with it, because it defiantly does not end as you think it will.

It was okay

So many characters. So much going on. I had expected more really. The ending was predictable and it would have been better had it not been. Left hanging in regards to other characters which kind of lets it down. I just didn’t “gel” with the main two characters.
Others were far more fun and interesting.

The Filipino maid

I have enjoyed listening to the story it has its twists & turn. Romantic as usual if it is written by Jill Mansell.
But I didn’t like the way she portrayed the Filipino maid. I am Filipino and English is second language. We speak good English as most of us are well educated. Next time do the research properly .

A bit slow going

Loved the story but told too monotone, kept on to finish the story but needed someone who spoke faster

I love all Jill Mansell’s books. Each story is completely different and all brilliant

I have to admit that I don’t have headphones but listen to each and every one while ironing! Not very glamorous I’m afraid!

Well narrated by Willow Nash

First book by Jill Mansell I've listened to rather than read. Enjoyed very much.

Lovely story with interesting characters

Yet again another enjoyable story. My only disappointment was the ‘Cumbrian’ accents came out as ‘Sunderland’ accents and being a Northerner myself this threw me a bit.. But still a very good narrator and enjoyable overall
