Death is the last lover you will ever know.

SOA Special Agent Patrick Collins has lived a life full of lies, and it has finally caught up with him. There’s no denying his past any longer, not after giving up the truth to save himself from a murder charge. But truth alone can’t set Patrick free, and time is running out to stop the Dominion Sect from turning his father into a god.

Jonothon de Vere knows survival isn’t a guarantee, but he’s desperate to keep Patrick safe, even as hope slips through his fingers. With the future unknown, Jono will follow Patrick wherever he goes, even to Salem, where a family reunion reveals a bitter secret that was never going to stay buried.

With New York City under control of their god pack, Patrick and Jono must fall back on every alliance they’ve brokered to fill the front lines of a war coming directly to the city streets. The veil is always thinnest on Samhain, and what awaits them on the other side is the stuff of nightmares. For when it tears, all hell will break loose, and the gods will be summoned to face a reckoning the world isn’t ready for.

The stakes have never been higher, failure has never been so deadly, and the Fates have never been kind to heroes. Patrick knows that better than anyone - because everything has a price, every debt always comes due, and it’s finally time for Patrick to pay his.

A Veiled and Hallowed Eve is the seventh and last book in the Soulbound series. If you haven’t read the previous six books stop what you’re doing and start the first book immediately. This series is a mixture of urban fantasy and paranormal mixed with romance, mystery, and action. The worldbuilding is incredible; Hailey Turner incorporates the myths and legends across the world into something new yet familiar. I was blown away by all the detail and depth Turner put into this world.

I don’t know how to write a review for this book without incorporating any spoilers. What I will say is that this book was worth wait. It had everything I was hoping for and more. Patrick and Jono, and the rest of their pack and friends, were just as intense and determined as we’ve come to expect from them no matter the odds against them. There was also a lot of humor laced throughout the book despite the dire straits the characters found themselves, and of course, a happy ending.

The audiobook was well done. Gary Furlong did a wonderful job narrating this book, just like he did with the previous six books. The performance was an easy five stars out of five, and the audio production was on point.

Hailey and Gary have brought it all home! New York City beware of mages trying to usurp the gods! Patrick's Soul Debt has come due and it'll take a miracle to extract himself from the dire quandary he finds himself in. Gary brings Hailey's wonderful cast of characters to life one final time and I was not disappointed. After getting to know them all through the 6 previous books in the series, I had high hopes for this one and knew the journey would be tumultuous and epic. Brace yourselves for the gripping conclusion of this epic saga, it's well worth the rollercoaster ride! Highly recommended for all lovers of Paranormal MM action-adventure romance. Best enjoyed if listened to in order starting from book 1. An amazing series by a wonderful writer.

Epic Ending of an Enchanted Expectation

WOW! This was the best conclusion to a series and HEA I have read in a long time. I won't same anything about plot, characters, etc. because if you 've read any of the books in this series (and you must, because you need all that background to fully comprehend this one) you know the characters are wonderfully complex and intense, and the world(s)-building is intricate and comprehensive. I loved the final battle and getting to see old friends and enemies (and some new ones) come together in the final clash either for or against Ethan. Twists, turns, pain, struggle, love and peace...it's all here. The finale for the characters we have followed and loved is perfect, including the final passage of Hannah. I love all the gods and mythologies the author mingles in her story...Greek, Norse, Hawaiian, and more. And I'll miss Wade. Even though he has grown and matured since they rescued him, he is still a fledging whelp, and a continuous source of humor. (#Poptarts forever!) Overall wonderful and entertaining story. If you are new to the series, go back and start at the beginning, and enjoy the epic journey.

The narration is incredible. I am so impressed by the way Gary manages to deliver all those complex god names. The pronunciation could be completely wrong (I'm not a scholar, so I wouldn't know), but they flow seamlessly and consistently off his tongue. That alone is impressive, but his tone and pacing for the story are perfect, too.

I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Great ending to a great series! Everything was settled nicely, and I have no lingering, tortured questions. The narration was good - the character's voices have become the narrator's. Overall great listen.
