About this listen

Death is the last lover you will ever know.

SOA Special Agent Patrick Collins has lived a life full of lies, and it has finally caught up with him. There’s no denying his past any longer, not after giving up the truth to save himself from a murder charge. But truth alone can’t set Patrick free, and time is running out to stop the Dominion Sect from turning his father into a god.

Jonothon de Vere knows survival isn’t a guarantee, but he’s desperate to keep Patrick safe, even as hope slips through his fingers. With the future unknown, Jono will follow Patrick wherever he goes, even to Salem, where a family reunion reveals a bitter secret that was never going to stay buried.

With New York City under control of their god pack, Patrick and Jono must fall back on every alliance they’ve brokered to fill the front lines of a war coming directly to the city streets. The veil is always thinnest on Samhain, and what awaits them on the other side is the stuff of nightmares. For when it tears, all hell will break loose, and the gods will be summoned to face a reckoning the world isn’t ready for.

The stakes have never been higher, failure has never been so deadly, and the Fates have never been kind to heroes. Patrick knows that better than anyone - because everything has a price, every debt always comes due, and it’s finally time for Patrick to pay his.

while I'm sad it's over this ending was perfect.

I true masterpiece of a series, that is so complex, captivating and addictive, it will stay with me forever. I will continue to revisit Pat, Jono, Wade and the God Pack over and over again.
As with all the books in this series, I was hooked from the opening scene and couldn't put it down. I love the complex, (& incredibly researched) details if every God and mythos and how Hailey's words paid tribute and allowed them to come alive through these stories. the good, the bad, the cheeky and the frustrating, I intricately woven web if details starts in Book 1 and doesn't let you until these last words.
I can never guess what was going to happen in these stories and most of the time I'm on the edge of my seat or blown over in shock! I feel the first six books are a build up and a collection of trials preparing Patrick and his pack for what must be done to vanquish Ethan and his blight on the world.
There were tears, fear, sadness and hope and while I'm sad it is over I will cherish the journey and continue to love these books and rave about them to anyone who'll listen.
A fantastic and fascinating series. I loved it all!!!

Wow! Seven books and now it's over. I have a book hangover like no other.
This review will be vague because I won't give away anything for readers who have yet to start the series.
This (as my headline states) was epic. A roller coaster of emotion and action that didn't stop from start to finish.
Don't worry, Patrick and Jono get their HEA, eventually. Have faith.

And the narrator, well he was excellent.

Gosh, it's over. What will I do? A listen with no gaps sounds like an excellent plan. When I've recovered a tad.

As a huge fan of the author and the series, I got a little sad when hearing this will be the last in the series, but it was a treat witnessing this last adventure of Patrick and Jono and how strong and unique their bond and love would become throughout their time together. I enjoyed a lot remembering all the books in the series, each one of them better than the previous one, with many stories, about Patrick and Jono and their extended family and friends, and even about the villains and how every single heartwarming moment and steamy scene were more beautiful and amazing as the series advanced. Gary Furlong was perfect as the narrator of all the books in the series and his smooth voice and great acting talent helped round up the characters and their Universe into a flawless performance. Thank you for all the amazing hours I spent reading and hearing these wonderful books! What a finale!

Thank you!

This is the conclusion to this brilliant series and I'm sad to see them go even though I'm also very very happy to see Patrick and Jono finally get the life they want on their own terms. Hailey Turner brought out all the stops and nothing was off limits as she wrapped up this amazing series.
The narrator did a brilliant job at bringing this story to life. The emotions were spot on, the voices were excellent and in a book with so many people it could have been easy to get lost amongst the sea of voices but that doesn't happen. The narrator has an amazing range and I could easily tell who was who.

Amazing story and brilliant narration
