Summary

Kayden's mission should have been simple - she was sent to kill the prince...not to fall in love with him.

Within the palace walls, Kayden has discovered that things are not as she expected. Is there more to the royal family, or...is there a more sinister depth to Drey's mission?

Dvarius thought his mind was made up - but will he have the resolve to see it through?

Between attacks from outside the palace - and within, will the Prince live long enough to choose his Queen?

And will Kayden choose to follow her head...or her heart, knowing that her decision could very well make her a target as well!

NOOOOOOOO…..

Oh my….I can’t believe how invested I am in this series. The characters are strong and likeable. The storyline is fantastic. And the performance from Krys is perfect. I can’t wait for the next book.

Second instalment of the series

It's been two days since the attempt on Prince Dvarious’ life. Kayden is in a coma after she took an arrow in the back while saving the Prince. Meanwhile, the Prince refuses to leave her bedside.

Dvarious is shocked and bewildered following the assassination attempt. Each time he recalls how Kayden managed to effortlessly disarm the assailant before succumbing to her injury has him questioning who she really is.

Despite his doubts, he wastes no time in proposing to her. Having realised her feelings for the Prince, Kayden starts to feel the net close around her deception. Torn between revealing the truth to the Prince and facing the wrath of Drey and the Order, Kayden makes a desperate decision.

A Treacherous Decision is the second instalment of the Order of the Moonstone series which picks up two days following the events of the previous book. Despite its exciting premise, I feel that this author has once again failed to deliver. The first half of the book was slow and repetitive with little plot development. Most of the action seems to take place in the heads of our main characters whereby they constantly second guess themselves and their feelings for the other.

There are hints of a bigger conspiracy in the background and if readers can get past the repetitive emotions of the MC to the deeper story they may well find it rewarding. This series was not for me, however.

I received an advanced free audible copy of The Reluctant Assassin and I am voluntarily reviewing it. Krys Janae’s narration was warm, clear and concise with excellent pacing.

Recommended to Teen/YA fans of Fantasy/Dystopian, action/adventure, secret societies, hidden agendas, mystery, insta-love, The Selection etc
