The company that Arya Vaii and Gunnar Schmidt founded to commercially develop Arya's time-stopping discovery is making money hand over fist.

Currently, their profits come from their use of the phenomenal physical properties of a time-stopped segment of space-time to build rockets. But now, they’re building their space tower. Taking off at a 30-degree angle from Eastern Virginia, it’s 200 kilometers long and 100 kilometers high. By placing the interior of their spacecraft - and its passengers - in stasis, they can accelerate launches at 15 gravities, reaching orbital speeds before the craft leaves the rail. This lets them put payloads in orbit for a thousand times lower cost than a rocket.

I came across these books by chance and when I sampled the story I was immediately taken by the subject and ideas that conjure in the mind. Laurence has written a wonderful story with everything you would expect of a classic.

Riveting and compelling

This series has been a slow burner, with initially too much long detail into the pseudo science. However this book has hit the ground running and after a slow start ha taken the series to a new level

The stories of the main characters Siba and Vi have also taken off and they are now rounded sympathetic and complex. The unorthodox love story has finally come to a climax and is ready for the next stage

There were some great villains and they were wonderfully voiced by the narrator.

I’m now going to look for the next book in the series. The first time I could not wait to continue the story!!
