Summary

How could any teacher look forward to a mandatory meeting during their summer break?

Kaitlyn Collins has enough stress in her life without being forced to go to an educators' conference during her summer break, but she doesn't have a lot of choice in the matter. She's been struggling to figure out where her life is going, so she thinks maybe a weekend away may not be such a bad thing. A chance encounter and a warped sense of humor will shake her life up in ways she never saw coming.

Taylor Ables thinks attending an educators' conference is a giant waste of time and money. She's happy with her life even though she's sworn off love after having her heart broken a few years ago. Will this year's meeting force her to step outside of her comfort zone and learn that sometimes it's worth taking a chance for the possibility of love?

Just how far will a person go to change their life?

Cheesy, needy, and sometimes just what one is looking for.

The cheesy- sometimes lesbian romance can be formulaic- girl meets girl, incredible and fast connection, uhaul effects, drama, almost resolution, more drama, and happy ending. The needy-there were some things that occurred in the book that definitely had me ask myself “do we, as lesbians, really do that?” The just what one needs- one can complain about the above mentioned points, however, the reality is that in today’s questionable climate, it feels good to have everyone in the story win. Sometimes, this is just a book that is right on time.

Ooof

Overall the book is well written & it’s a sweet story. But the intensity of the MC’s feelings literally 48 hrs after meeting & confessing “eternal” love a day after that *facepalm* lol To keep myself engaged I just told myself it had actually been at least a couple months instead of days. Other than that I enjoyed the book. Cheesy yet steamy, funny, angsty enough without being annoying.

Good Story

The story was good, and the supporting characters and side stories were interesting. Loved Ms. Mattie and even Michael! But the narrator makes Katelyn too whiney. There were well-written sex scenes which would have been much more fun without the whiney narration.

This is my first book by Leslye Marks and it won’t be the last. Great storyline and well developed side characters. Lori Prince is so good with all the different voices!

I think it's good

I just want to say that overall, I did enjoy this as a whole, however, this is one of the most convoluted stories that is drowning in drama that I have ever listened to. So... the plot of this story revolves around the problems of Taylor and Kaitlyn and my god do these two make 2 peas in a pod. I just want to say that this story happens in 5-7 days, it is incredibly fast lol. God I don't even know what to write because the events of the book are just so UGH, it's not even that good, it's two people who have lied to themselves and each other and go behind each others backs to have affairs and the whole book is just a series of events that explains why they did what they did and why it will, in the end, be ok. IT DOESNT MAKE THE BOOK BAD, however... They handle the situation like ADULTS, yes like the goddamn adults they are supposed to be and for that I enjoyed this book. The characters pull up their grown up pants and talk about it and they go through therapy after therapy so that things can try to be understood. They try, in their respective ways, to be a good person to the other and even though they're uncomfortable, they voice it to each other, they don't hold it back and then let it fester and the problem turns into something so outrageous that it just throws the story out of proportion. I am thankful that EVEN THOUGH the main problem in this story is so ridiculously outrageous, the characters are written as real as ever and I could definitely see real people acting the same way as these characters did, especially given the circumstances. The only other thing that was kind of strange was the switch of PoV, if you aren't paying attention, you could very easily miss out on who took over in the PoV. I'm not sure how to really explain it but I guess the best explanation is that it wasn't streamlined as well as it could have been I suppose. And Lori Prince, need I say anymore? I'm a fan, i'm 100% guilty of buying this audiobook because of Lori Prince, she's awesome. Overall: DRAMA, DRAMA THERE, DRAMA THERE, DRAMA EVERYWHERE!!!!!!

If you’re looking for a sweet love story that flows perfectly this a good one. Taylor and Kaitlyn chemistry was amazing. And introduction of important people in their lives. I loved everything about it . Leading me to the second point! Lori Prince!!!! I’ll leave it at that.
