About this listen
Previously published as The Accidental Investigator by Amber Eve
Have you ever wished someone dead? Because Scarlett Scott really wouldn’t recommend it…Moving to a small town in the Scottish Highlands isn’t quite what journalist Scarlett expected it to be. And when local influencer Ava Valentine goes missing, things start to get even more complicated; especially when the dour new village policeman gets involved and instantly becomes Scarlett’s arch nemesis.
For Scarlett and Dylan, it’s hate at first sight. But can they work together to find Ada? And can enemies ever really become friends… or more?

I enjoyed the narration for the most part. the narrator did a great job giving the different characters distinct voices that fit their personality. Only thing is I felt she made Dylan sound older than he was, kind of gruff, like someone in their mid to late 40s. Both main characters are in their early 20s, I think.
If you're looking for a cozy scottish small town mystery with lots of comedy, and a dash of romance. you might like this.
Lots of humour, really good narration

This is the third book in the Heather Bay series though it was completely fine reading it without having read the previous books. It is well narrated and overall enjoyable. That said, I hope there are more books coming because there are plenty of characters who have interesting stories to tell in this series.
