About this listen

The heartwarming follow-up to Rebecca Thornes instant Sunday Times bestseller, Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea. The perfect adventure for fans of Legends & Lattes and Our Flag Means Death.

Queer pirates will discover if enemies actually can become lovers . . .

Kianthe and Reyna are hunting for dragon eggs to save their hometown. To secure their prize, they must strike a deal with the local lord – who in turn wants Serina, notorious river pirate, and scourge of his supply chains. Surely, they can handle one small abduction in the name of justice?

Begrudgingly, the couple join forces with Bobbie, one of the lord’s constables. Bobbie is determined to capture Serina, but lawmaker and lawbreaker have a complicated history – and it might jeopardize everything. As Bobbie and Serina become reacquainted, Kianthe and Reyna watch this relationship-wreck from afar. Luckily, matchmaking is Reyna’s favourite pastime. The dragon eggs may just have to wait.

Take a break with this gloriously cosy sapphic fantasy rife with mischief and steeped in fun.

Critic reviews

I absolutely loved this sequel. I think I actually like it even more than the first! The LGBT representation was on point. The pirates and adventure were fantastic without ever making it feel like the stakes were high. You always feel safe with these characters which is why I love them (Chad, from Goodreads)
Mist floating over a river at dawn, golden light filtering through pine trees, late-night auroras, mountainscapes, and two women utterly devoted to each other adventuring through it all by griffon, ship, and horseback (though begrudgingly the latter for poor Kianthe), A Pirate's Life for Tea was a heart pounding and delightful sequel to Can't Spell Treason Without Tea (T., from Goodreads)
It's wonderful, cozy queer joy. It is truly special (Emma, from Goodreads)

Book 2 in 'The Tea and Tomes' series is another good 'listen' ! I am enjoying this magical, quirky series and will be buying Book 3 ! The narration adds to the audiobook, although I'm still not sure about the depiction of the two MC's (a little airy fairy) but I am used to it now. The supporting characters are interesting and help the story along ! All in All this is a series to follow if you like the sound of the preview !

Book 2

My favourite part about book 1 was Reyna and Kianthe building up the tea shop and running it. This book has almost none of that, instead they go on a pirate and dragon egg adventure. Which wasn’t bad, but also not what I loved about book 1.
Hopefully more of the slice of life and tea shop come back in book 3 :)

Good but a bit dissapointing
