Since the untimely death of her husband, young mother Effie Grey has been forced to live on a narrowboat owned by her tyrannical father-in-law Jacob. I just could not stop listening to this story - it was wonderful and held my interest from the beginning to the end. I always enjoy enjoy stories written by Dilly Court and Annie Aldington is such a good narrator. Yes, it was brilliant and I’m sure anyone who listens to it will agree.
