Leaving Liverpool behind, Libby Andrews embarks on a transformative journey to London with her newfound friend Suzy.

Amidst the bustling city streets, they find Libby's parents' cherished stall on Petticoat Lane has been taken over and run into the ground by Libby's conniving uncle.

Libby is determined to reclaim what rightfully belongs to her and with Suzy's support, she is able to bring the stall back to the way it used to be.

But when they unravel a long-held family secret, unearthing the truth about her mother's past, will it shatter the bright future that lies ahead for Libby?

I was disappointed with this book…..I enjoyed the first one so much couldn’t wait to start the 2nd one, but to much waffle for me, and libby came across as slow and naive, not like the clever brave young woman in the first story.

I have enjoyed this story of lives of girls from all walks of life joining the land army and their families over coming good and bad times in the First World War.

Bit confused by all different characters the Uncles & Aunts. First few chapters worst knowing whose who & why.

I'm an intelligent person but having had to read the first few chapters of this book over and over again on different days to try to understand the story, makes me question that intelligence and wonder whether I'm losing it altogether? I want to list all the characters mentioned in those chapters to try to make sense of the story. Needless to say I can't review this new the book because I've been too confused to listen to it - which is so disappointing because I love all of Katie's books. The saving grace here is Anne Dover's dependably wonderful narration.

Not the best start to a story 🤔
