Lizzie Martin, lady's companion, has been sent from London to the New Forest to comfort a young woman whose baby has tragically died. I found this story a pleasure to listen to the characters are believable and don’t get on your nerves. I like this period and the author transports you back to Victorian times without the need to give the reader a lecture or history lesson, the narrators were superb too, just how I imagine them to sound and I enjoyed the different perspectives of the chapters. Fran varady is my favourite Granger character but Lizzie Martin is a close second. Will listen to more.

dull as dishwater, took forever for anything to occur, got to chapter 10 and still nothing had happened. was not allowed to return which was annoying and a waste of a credit.

Great story love the narrative and it did keep me engaged but not to sure about the derby accent and the young female accent was childish still enjoyed the book though
