Lucy
I fell in love with Charles “Double-D” Brothers when I was just 16 years old. He was 19 and had just patched into the Aces High MC in Charleston, SC. The falling in love part didn’t matter though, because our life - our love - wasn’t destined to be an easy one. Then again, nothing worth having ever is. In the beginning - I was too young, he was too wild, and my family was able to send me away to keep us apart. Later, when I was 20 and he was 23 our paths crossed again. This time he was the one ready for me, but I wasn’t quite there yet. I allowed the club whores and rumors to drive me away, and then I let my pride and more lies keep me away despite the secret I took with me.
Double-D
The perfect woman was out there waiting for me to find her - again. Twice I’d lost her now, and twice it had been avoidable. It’s a damn shame that life had a nasty habit of screwing me over because we were far from done with the roller coaster we’d been on so far. It didn’t matter though. The ride could keep on getting bumpier, and I’d never jump off. She was worth every single thing I had to endure just to feel her in my arms at the end of the day. If only I could keep her from running again...
This is not an insta-love story. It’s the story of a lifetime.
As with The Other Princes (Aces High MC - Charleston, Book 1) this is a different book in the MC Romance sub-genre. It deals heavily with internal family issues and less with outside club vs club drama.

Brutal
This book is brutal. There is no holding back from this author. I do think this is probably the most realistic MC I have read/listened to. Good characters, great storyline and a brilliant performance from both narrators.

So much happening at the MC
At first I thought 💭 did I mess up the order of the books in this series. Then found all the additional info provided really brings the series into prospective.
I cried so hard several places in this next book. Heart wrenching things are happening and I loved the tie into book 1 that was done. Amazing writing and new to me author leaves me so happy to devour more of these gems.
Really enjoying this series. Sarah Puckett is well matched to the female characters and I found Michael’s performance to be great and he is new to me. His voice matched CJs persona very well.

Good Listen
So I have a love hate relationship with this book. But not because it was horrible. I hated Lucy when it came to her first reaction to Ever. But she definitely redeemed her self. Then I hated CJ “Double D”, because he was such a jerk! But he redeemed himself!
Lucy and CJs story his heartbreaking! Ugh! This book will have you all up in your feels! But they’re each other’s saving grace and I am here for it!
Sarah & Michael did a fantastic job narrating!

A Love So Hard
Wow! I didn't like Double-D after listening to The Other Princess but I loved hearing about his and Lucy's love story and getting their point of view with the drama that unfolded in book 1 as well as their own story from beginning to end. It definitely made me rethink my dislike for Double-D but I will always hate his nickname as much as he does. This book was heartbreaking in a different way yet through all the pain and sadness, there was joy and happiness and another beautiful story. While I did shed a few more tears in this book than in the last one, I can't wait to listen to Anna's story in the next book. This is an incredible series and one I would highly recommend. Sarah Puckett and Michael Norman Johnson did a wonderful job bringing this story to life.

I am loving this world
OMG... this story is just clicking for me. It’s kept me entertained, enthralled, and just engrossed. I am so in love with the characters. The narrators are incredibly amazing and help add layers to the dialogue and characters!! I will definitely be listening again.
