Tommy Carr was a kind man; Eve had been able to tell that after half an hour of knowing him. There had never been a day when he had not shown her some small kindness.

This is a beautiful, sad and heartwarming story that the narrator tells movingly bringing out the character's calmness, emotion and motivation. I shall be going back to it again.

Strange story in many ways with unanswered questions and assumptions but interesting and worthy and positive and we need such these days in the midst of the other. Also shows consequences and choices for us all.
