About this listen

When Nicole Rayburn adds a historic bookshop to her list of promotional venues, she meets the owner, Deborah Dolan, who’s desperate to discover what happened to her Victorian ancestor. A well-respected playwright, Edgar Hilliard seemingly had it all: professional success, a thriving business, and a loving family, but according to family lore, Edgar walked out one night, never to return, an unfinished manuscript his only legacy to future generations.

Deborah’s obsession with Edgar borders on the unhealthy, but despite her better judgment, Nicole can’t seem to walk away from this new challenge and enlists the help of her friend, Dr. Quinn Allenby to solve the mystery. Nicole and Quinn are determined to discover what happened to Edgar, but their search for answers is hindered by unexpected personal obstacles that threaten to alter the course of their lives forever.

A really good listen

The narrator’s speech pattern was unnatural and unconvincing as an UK based English speaker. Some of it was amusing though! The language used was too American and modern for the 1800’s too.

Strange narration and speech patterns!

Even bad can be like ! You know that you are gifted, So i’ll just say thank you. Really really loved the Lovers, and that particular series of books. What’s is it about doom that’s so soothing? ( Someone else’s doom,?when it can be blamed on history.) challenges just change, it’s life. Believe me it’s always humiliating at the bottom, not necessarily warm, or Keep writing , please .( less gloom! )

Twists and turns

Terrible narrative. Yet again we had buoyed as boo eed!! so many terrible pronunciations and almost of the men have the same posh nasal voice. who is Shone? is he Sean? I think if is such a shame as I am loving the stories.
Is this an Ai reading? I suspect so.

Terrible narrative.

Spoiler alert!

Disappointed that the author seems to be recycling parts from the previous books, such as the psychic friend who discovers the stories from the past, and the parents affair, additional siblings coming out of nowhere, etc. not sure I want to finish this book

Have I heard this before?
