Summary

When orphan Theodosia’s only remaining family lock her out of their seasonal celebrations, she thinks she’ll be spending Christmas alone in her bedsit - until she meets physician Hugo Bentinck. But Hugo may be waiting a while for Theodosia to admit her love for him, as she mistakes his sister for his intended wife, and an interfering aunt and nosy landlady all play a part in holding up their happy ever after!

Not the best narrator

This is the first time I’ve heard this particular narrator, and while her natural voice is lovely, the main character sounds like a child and her love interest a decrepit old man. It made listening to their unfolding romance a little weird to me.
I’d like to listen to this voiced by Anne Cater, who has read most of Neels’ audiobooks.

Short and sweet!

Just four chapters. This Betty Neels Audio book gets straight to the main characters, read beautifully by Karen Cass, who always has just the right voices! Clean, non confrontational, just a little mis-understanding from an uncertain of her worth young woman, especially when a Senior Consultant takes an interest in her. Highly recommend this Audio or Reading book - Audio for me, makes this the perfect listen at bedtime. More please?
