I loved this book and Briar is a great heroine she has experienced trauma and is trying to get a life that she wants. Coming back from California for the summer spending time with her dad and his new family she is in for a shock when her mother marries someone and did not have the courtesy to tell her. Briar is understandably angry to get over her anger she goes to a party and meets Travis, Sawyer, and Cole. Spending and unforgettable night together she is shocked the next morning when she meets her new step brother and his friends. This book has a professor that hates Briar for reason that are disturbing women being attacked on campus and one dying and triggers that Briar is trying to process. And as usual the parents are the absolute worse but I can not wait to listen to book two.

A Burn So Deep was a really good series starter. It had mystery and reverse harem. There were twins in the harem which I haven’t experienced a lot of in my past harem stories but I’m actually liking with this story. Or I was until that shocker of an ending which has me wanting to throat punch all the guys, and the parents, and whoever this mystery villain is. Plus, I need to know about a few other things that were mentioned but never explained throughout the story. Luckily this was just book one and there are two more books to come to tie things up. And this one was told so well by not only the author but also the narrator that I definitely will be checking out book two.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! Immediately Briar’s banter and inner monologue had me cracking up with joy from the first few lines. She is a character for sure! And definitely added to my enjoyment while listening to this book.

Her boys were unaware of who she was when they first met her at a party, and lets just say…things turn hot and sizzling in one night of pleasure.

After that night, well here is when things get interesting. Not only does Briar find out she has a stepbrother, but a stepbrother who she slept with, and not only her stepbrother, but also his best friends!

The bullying comes in hot and fast, only adding intensity to the situation and leaving me permanently hanging off the edge of my seat 😂. But still, there’s an undercurrent of lust and desire under all that hate. And you know what they say..hate is also lust.

I loved listening to every second of this. Lily Wildhart really took you on the most amazing wildest of rides, and I never wanted it to end. This is a seriously underrated book, and should be hyped up to the max. If you are interested in this books premise, then you won’t be disappointed at what you find inside it’s pages. 💗

“A Burn so Deep” is a fantastic start to a new series penned by the wonderfully talented Lily Wildhart. I enjoy her writing style, the characters and storylines she creates are interesting and original, and they captivate my attention from start to end. After spending the summer away Briar Moore returns home to find out everything has changed, her Mom remarried and her new stepfather enrolled her into Saints U, so she goes to her new home in Serenity Falls and it is not anything like the places she has lived before, it is a house of luxury in comparison. She goes out to a party with her friend Emerson and, after too much tequila, she does something she has never done before, hooks up with three guys, Sawyer, Travis and Cole. A steamy encounter before she starts school and gets settled into her new life. When she gets home, she meets her new stepbrother, Travis Kensington, one of the three guys from the night before, and he is not happy to see her. Starting school was no fun for her either, she had to deal with bullies and attitudes from the guys and then one of her professors have it in for her. This first book lays down the foundation for the series and there are a lot of layers to the story and going on behind the scenes. Questions are raised, including what is her mother’s and stepfather’s deal, who is sending her threats, who is behind the crimes on campus and what is that professor’s problem with Briar. And then there are the boys, Sawyer, Asher, Cole and Travis, there is more than meets the eye with them too and I can not wait to find out what that is. And that ending, wow, just wow! Lilly Wildhart, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride. 

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Cecily Foster is an entertaining storyteller and a versatile voice artist. She did a fabulous job covering the roles for all the characters, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. Foster has a complete understanding of the characters she was portraying and was believable in every role she plays. She sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into her performance, making you feel every single one. Thank you for another fantastic listen.
