George Orwell
George Orwell's timeless and timely allegorical novel - a scathing satire on a downtrodden society's blind march towards totalitarianism. The book tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Ultimately, however, the rebellion is betrayed, and the farm ends up in a state as bad as it was before, under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon. Today it is devastatingly clear that wherever and whenever freedom is attacked, under whatever banner, the cutting clarity and savage comedy of George Orwell's masterpiece have a meaning and message still ferociously fresh.
©2021 George Orwell (P)2021 Page2PageIt's a good novella, with great simple, and approachable prose. It's interesting to read something from a time when Orwell was more enamoured with socialism and less jaded, however as enjoyable as it is, it is just nothing compared to his magnum opus, 1984, which does all the same things only better.
I loved reading this, and its so short you have to read it, but wait until you get your teeth in to 1984.
Excellent, interesting and enjoyable

Laughed heartily at the narrator using the word coccidiosis for the first time

I believe Animal Farm is a book everyone should read at least once in their lifetime. It offers a striking perspective on how quickly people can change, how easily ideals can be corrupted, and how deeply we can be influenced by political agendas and those who hold power.
What particularly stayed with me was the realization that while certain manipulations may seem obvious to someone who is educated, politically aware, or accustomed to questioning what they hear, we must never forget that entire societies can be shaped by those who simply accept what they are told. When enough people are convinced of the same narrative, it can become more powerful than the truth itself.
And perhaps that is the most unsettling lesson of all: it does not matter how clearly one individual sees what is happening if the masses have already been persuaded to believe otherwise.
A brilliant, timeless, and deeply thought-provoking book that leaves you questioning not only the world around you, but human nature itself.
