Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The new thriller from worldwide best-selling author James Patterson.

Angela Hoot is a young tech genius. But when she's kicked off her master's degree course at MIT for hacking into the computer of a fellow student, she fears she's blown her chances of a glittering career.

Instead, Angela is offered a dream position with the FBI. She jumps at the chance and is thrown in at the deep end.

Her first assignment is at a house in the Boston suburbs where a family of five has been brutally murdered.

As Angela struggles to overcome the painful reality of her new job, a phone is found that could hold the secrets of this mass murder - if Angela is unable to uncover them.

Too far fetched

Okay book, nothing more - not really credible. Will not bother with any follow up though

Clearly not written by James Patterson, just another book churned out under his name

Please tell me there will be more of this series.
Really enjoyed it, not sure why it has had negative reviews, but appreciate that we all see things differently. I enjoyed it and I want more please.

Great!!!

Another great read. So many twists and turns but still believable. Wonder if this is a stand alone or the beginning of a new series. Thank you.

Disappointed 😞

it started with promise then gave to much character background and seemed to drift with no punch at the end!

I want to hear more

I really enjoyed this book, it kept my interest (I tend to wander) and I love the digital-coding side of the FBI, I really hope there is more to come from Angela, Billy and Eve. fingers crossed.

Predictable

This story was really over the top and would never happen, it was like a teenager wrote this like a dream job for her in the FBI and catching criminals!
The narrator was not great and all the male voices sounded like jimbo Jones from the Simpsons. I lost interest but still read in case something happened, alas it did not.

Annoying narration

The narrator was so annoying I struggled to listen to it, but from what I heard it was more like teen reading. Full of boring cliches and 2D characters, so had to give up half-way.

1st Case

Wow, what a book, the old style James Patterson, in new book! This is definitely on my top of my best audio books I've listened to this year. Love the new character and am definitely looking forward to the next book. The suspense was everywhere! The narration was excellent.

Boring

I did not enjoy this book. The main character whines and cries the whole time, and cannot make up her mind whether she is gay or not. For a genius she is pretty stupid. This is the last time I am going to try a new James Patterson. Maybe he should take a break from writing for a while.
