Just couldn't bring myself to give a stuff for any of the characters. Gave up after a couple of hours. Might be ok if you're about 14

I will be reserved as this was on the‘included in membership’ list. If I had spent a credit on it I think I would have discontinued reading and got a refund after 25% point and probably given fewer stars. I listen while I work and it passed the time without me having to think much which was ok, but the story is pretty far fetched and the ending even more so. The dialogue and intelligence of the child characters is totally unrealistic and the narrator, while being generally fine to listen to, is not the best at accents or consistency in his voice acting of several different characters which got a bit annoying. My main issue though was the lack of female characters and their marginal involvement in the story and dialogue. Their roles and very limited speech were very cliché and undeveloped compared to the many male characters, despite one female character being (quietly) present throughout almost the entire plot! I would say a lot more but I hate spoilers in reviews so I’ll refrain from saying too much. If you are a male who enjoys disaster movies, unlikely hero adventure stories and survival stuff this would probably please you (I can imagine my husband would have enjoyed it) but if you like well rounded, believable characters and plot lines I would advise you to Avoid.

Ignore the negative reviews, if you’re into mysteries and thrillers you will enjoy listening to this.
