About this listen

A wonderful heartwarming read from Rosie Clarke's bestselling Mulberry Lane series - see what everyone's talking about...

London 1949

Peggy is once more torn two ways and can only hope that a reunion with her Mulberry Lane family and friends at Christmas can help resolve her problems.

Her eldest daughter Janet is desperately unhappy and fears her husband is having an affair, whilst her youngest daughter Fay has been talent-spotted to train as a figure skater back in London.

Peggy is faced with the dilemma of moving her family back to London to pursue her daughter’s destiny. But will everyone be happy with this?

A heart-warming saga following the lives and loves of those who live on Mulberry Lane in London’s East End

Perfect for fans of Lizzie Lane, Fenella J Miller and Patricia McBride

loved the series but issues with narrators spoil the continuity and flow of the books! Good story though. Somewhat predictable but it didn't spoil the story. I can't understand how some characters suddenly sounded dull and dim! Others lost their west country accents.... strong women suddenly sounded flighty and wishy washy! Surely if you can't get the original narrator, the new narrator should listen to at least a few sections of previous books so as to get a feel for the existing characters! Shame as the actual stories where enjoyable... I did find myself exasperated at the poor pauses, disjointed sentences and lack of story telling... the shouty telephone conversations made me want to fast forward! Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I'd read it rather than listened to it?!

Continuity and narration spoil it :(

I would have loved this if the narrator had not made several characters sound rather slow and stupid.

narration really overdone

I’ve read all series up to now. The first book had the best narrator but the following books were poorly narrated. I kept going because I loved the storyline all the way.

Poor narration

I have listened to all of the previous books about Mulberry Lane and have been excited hearing the story lines and characters, when I found that there were 2 more books I couldn’t wait to hear them. On my goodness, I am so disappointed each of the beloved characters who were previously very vibrant and interesting but now in this person the narration is awful the characters now are read as dim witted and slow with big pauses which got really annoying, if fact I was considering not listening anymore. I have bought book 7 but sadly it is read again by Polly Edsell and I cannot listen to her reading for another 10hrs. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am. Please can it be reread by Laura Kirman

This has been the most painful of this series to listen to.
