A nice period piece. following the lives of newly employed shop assistants in a department store.
an easy listen. however, the narrators voice for the character Maggie was so quiet I could hardly hear it. apart from that. Well read, and an easy listen.

Sometimes you need a good page turner, other times you need a sweet story in the background while you get on with your stuff. this was a lovely, listenable background book to listen to. It didn't matter if you missed a bit because it was a predictable midday movie story line. Nice mix of characters and lots of openings left for another story.

Very Sweet
