About this listen

The next book in the series from the bestselling author Rosie Clarke of The Harpers Emporium and The Mulberry Lane Series.

There are hard times ahead for the Harpers Girls...

1914 Oxford Street, London

It is two years since Harpers Emporium opened its doors and life is good for Sally and Ben Harper as they look forward to the arrival of their first child.

Beth Burrows is settling into married life with Jack and is gradually recovering from her miscarriage and Aunt’s tragic death.

Harpers welcomes some new faces and they all become part of the daily life at the busy store.

However, whilst the sun is shining on the streets of London, dark clouds gather over Europe as war looms threatening rainy days for the girls…

A heart-warming saga following the lives, loves and losses of the Harpers Girls.
Perfect for fans of Lizzie Lane, Pam Howes and Dilly Court.

Another interesting story about the Harpers' girls. I would have given 5 stars had it not been for narrators irritating approach to mseveral of the male voices. Slow and laboured , she made them sound as thick as two short planks.

Good story

I loved the first two books in this series but this third one has a different narrator. Sally, Miss Craven and Maggie suddenly have upper class accents which are jarring and ruin it for me.
Also the book is no longer about the main characters of Beth, Maggie and Sally - new characters are introduced. It’s just not as good. Annoying really as I’ve already used my credits on the whole series!

Characters have all changed! :(

Loved the first book but this new narrator can’t to accents and her reading is appalling
I wanted to continue the series but seeing who’s narrating I won’t bother putting myself through it !

Narrator awful

Very disappointed that the narrator had changed. The voices she gives characters is terrible.

Story great, Narrator not so much.

Oh gosh Mr Marco’s accent, where did that come from ?
I really do think that where possible when doing a saga we need the same narrator as this narrator has changed everything.

Terrible narrator
