The narrator of this book chose to change the accents of main characters Sally, Maggie & Marlene. Having grown accustomed to these characters in previous 2 books I found it off putting and so didn’t finish this book.

Lovely story, but …..

Why did the narrator change after book 2? 🙉 so hard to continue listening. Shame

I really enjoyed the series but.....

The Narrator was changed after the first 2 books in this series which isn’t great to do 3 books in. The book and content are great, very enjoyable but since this is an audio book app the narrator is super-central to the storyline. A couple of the characters sound very over-twee and one develops a lisp 3/4 way through the book.

Great story, questionable narration

This narrator does a good job differentiating between so many female characters, however as some of them are so shrill one has to keep changing the volume. When doing the foreign accents she tends to over egg the performance making it difficult to understand what is being said. The story is good and the characters engaging so I will continue with the series.

Some confusing accents

After having enjoying listening to the first two books, narrated by a different person, I was looking forward to listening to the rest of the series. However, the change in narration and perhaps the direction they were given, is making it difficult and this saddens me because the stories are lovely and nicely written. Unfortunately, like others, I can’t say the same about the character accents. In addition it’s been like have a whole new cast and it’s been confusing. That said, I have enjoyed the story thus far so I will continue, but I would suggest retaining a narrator to narrate all the books in a series.

Mixed feelings
